Battle of Britain Class pacific 34089 ‘602 Squadron’, this
at Wareham station, as it takes on water before taking the RCTS ‘Farewell
to Steam’ railtour to Weymouth on 18th June 1967. The engine had just worked
‘top-and-tail’ with BR Standard 4MT 80146 to Swanage and back, which was the
last steam train to work over the branch under British Railways.
